About

Biography

I have been drawing and painting for as long back as I can remember. As a child, it was with crayons, chalks, and thick DIY paints. As a teenager and young woman, it was with a pencils or pens--depending on what was within reach on my work desk as I jabbered on the phone or daydreamed during my free-time.
During a few precious summers at camp when I was as a teen, I attended all-day art classes in mediums of charcoal, paint, and clay; for me, time blissfully stood still without my notice as I absorbed the gift I was fortunate enough to have been given. I was also blessed to have attended a school an education system in which art was considered an important subject in our curriculum. I learned and grew in my love and my knowledge of art, music and dancd available to me through a cirriculum in which they were offered and encouraged. I attended college after my youngest of three children went to school, I made a living in both newspapers as well as in the print industry after college.
Upon retirement, my art grew more serious as I started to paint daily over the next few years. I watched every free video I could fine on watercolor and absorbed many books studying other watercolorists' approach to the medium.
Occasionally, I posted some of my work online, starting back in 2021 and was thrilled when I actually sold a few of my paintings not even trying..  Not long after I ventured out into my little community's art scene and galleries. In 2022 I entered my first juried show at Marion County's "The Brick" gallery.  I was equally  fortunate that the following summer I was given a space in another of our county's many juried art shows at the Webber Gallery, Colldge of Central Florida-(see bio see, below).
These days, in retirement, you can find me sketching or photographing things of interest wherever I go. I recently joined the Florida Watercolor Society and I am very much looking forward to meeting and interactiing with you, my fellow artist with whom I share the love of watercolor.
I am a retired writer and news editor who has lived happily with her husband Joe in Ocala, Florida for the past twenty years.
